About Mike

Michael (Mike) Ebenroth grew up in Chicago, Illinois and lived on the Northwest side of Chicago. He attended St. Ferdinand grammar school and went on to attend St. Patrick High School. After graduation Mike attended the University of Illinois for a year and transferred to Triton College in River Grove, Illinois. Mike entered the workforce at age 15 when he applied for a stockboy job with a local Ben Franklin Store. Mike went on to become an assistant manager while attending college. After graduating from college Mike became the store manager. In 1978 he accepted a transfer to Colorado as a store manager. In 1979 he moved to Missouri and became a Store Opening Manager responsible for a 9 state territory. He was based out of Excelsior Springs, Missouri where he met Darla.

In 1981 Mike and Darla were married and decided to purchase the KFC store in Excelsior Springs. Over the course of the next 23 years Mike and Darla operated 3 KFC stores ( of which 2 of them were KFC/Taco Bell's) and a Baskin Robbins. After retiring from the restaurant business, Mike obtained his real estate license which he currently still holds with Reece & Nichols Realtors, Kearney. Mike helped Darla open a quilt and sewing center in Kearney, Missouri which Darla currently manages. Mike helps out with the sewing machine repairs.

Mike and Darla have three daughters, Lisa Smith, Michelle Seithel, and Christina Ebenroth. All three of them live in Missouri. They also have three grand children, Natalie, Melanie, and Jimmy.

Mike has served on the Excelsior Springs City Council and as Mayor of Excelsior Springs and is currently a Redcoater with the Kansas City Chiefs.
