Mike has been involved in the community since he moved here in 1979. Along with his wife Darla he is responsible for bringing back the Christmas decorations in Excelsior Springs and forming the Christmas Committee. He was responsible for the city's fireworks display for a number of years. Mike has served on several boards and commissions in the area including The Excelsior Springs Hospital Advisory board. The Planning an Zoning Commission, the TIF Commission, and the Capital Improvement Authority. Mike also served as a representative to the Kansas City Area Development Commission. Mike has been past treasurer of the Kansas City chapter of the Missouri Restaurant Association and President of the KFC Kansas City Advertising Group. Mike is currently a director for the Missouri Realestate Association, the Excelsior Springs SAFE Committee, and the Kansas City Chiefs Red Coaters including a term as President of the organization.
